You will rotate around a number of different assignments based on your individual development plan. The Operations Trainee Programme covers all aspects of Operations and Supply Chain such as:

Product

The objective of the module is to build understanding of Product function and principles of product development, gain experience in new product introduction process & product lifecycle management, develop understanding of links between marketing, Supply Chain hub, factories, and suppliers, understand printing technology. Exposure to Leaf and R&D could typically form a part of this module. Core competency areas:

  • Packaging, Materials and Graphics
  • Product Innovation Development
  • Ensure Product Quality
  • Blending
  • Casing and Flavouring
  • Cigarette Design
  • Leaf

Make

The objective of the module is to acquire a solid people leadership experience and good exposure to Make management environment through a manufacturing leadership role.

The above should be supported with additional experience in production processes, environmental health and safety, process optimisation & continuous improvement.

  • People & Team Leadership (performance management, development/career planning, reward, etc.)
  • Manufacturing Demand Fulfillment

Move

The objective of the module is to build understanding in Logistics processes and knowledge of customs & excise. Core competency areas:

  • Network Modeling & Optimisation
  • Optimising Transport & Delivery
  • Effective Warehouse
  • Managing 3rd Party Logistics
  • Commercial Rules and Regulations

Procurement

The objective of the module is to gain overview of procurement processes, including development of sourcing strategy. Gain an insight into supplier relationship management.

  • Legal & Contract Knowledge
  • Supplier Management

Plan/Demand/Supply

During the module an MT should gain a thorough understanding and experience in above-factory planning, materials supply and demand forecasting. Core competency areas:

  • S&OP and Integrated Planning
  • Impact of Cost to Serve
  • Demand Planning
  • Supply Planning
  • Production Planning
  • Inventory Planning

Service

During the module the MT should gain a thorough understanding and experience in developing relationships with suppliers as well as understanding of the role of account management. Core competency areas:

  • Commercial Understanding
  • Account Management in Operations
  • Influencing Customer Planning & Decision Making
  • Building Customer Service Relationships
  • Instituting Customer Service Processes
  • New Product Introductions
